Wingman Beta Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 22, 2026
These Beta Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Wingman ("Wingman," the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), a beta product operated by Shama Bildikar ("Operator").
By creating an account, accessing, or using Wingman, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use Wingman.
1. About Wingman
Wingman is a beta service designed to help high-school students discover and organize extracurricular activities, competitions, internships, programs, and other educational opportunities.
Wingman may help users:
- build a student profile based on information they provide;
- identify opportunities that may be relevant to their interests, goals, and profile;
- browse opportunities;
- save opportunities to a personal tracker;
- organize deadlines associated with opportunities;
- generate tasks associated with those deadlines; and
- otherwise organize aspects of their college-preparation journey.
Wingman is a productivity and discovery tool. It is not an educational institution, college admissions office, admissions counselor, attorney, financial adviser, or other professional adviser.
2. Eligibility and Parental Permission
Wingman is currently available only to individuals who are 13 years of age or older.
If you are under 18 years old, you may use Wingman only with the permission and involvement of your parent or legal guardian. By creating an account as a user under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has given you permission to use Wingman and agrees to these Terms on your behalf where required by applicable law.
Parents and legal guardians may also create accounts and use Wingman.
You must provide truthful and accurate information about your age and eligibility. You may not create an account for someone else without appropriate authorization.
We reserve the right to request additional information or take reasonable steps to verify eligibility or parental permission.
3. Beta Program
Wingman is currently offered as an invite-only beta.
The beta is provided for testing, evaluation, and improvement of the Service. During the beta:
- features may be incomplete or experimental;
- the Service may contain bugs, errors, or inaccuracies;
- features may change without notice;
- information or recommendations may occasionally be missing, incorrect, outdated, or inappropriate;
- the Service may become temporarily or permanently unavailable; and
- we may discontinue or modify the beta at any time.
The beta is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid features, subscriptions, or other pricing in the future. If we do so, we will provide appropriate notice before charging you for a paid service.
You should not rely on Wingman as your sole source of information about an opportunity, deadline, eligibility requirement, or application.
4. AI-Generated Recommendations and Content
Wingman uses artificial intelligence and machine-learning technologies to provide portions of the Service.
For example, after you provide sufficient profile information, Wingman may use that information to help rank or recommend opportunities that may be relevant to you. Wingman may also generate profiles, activity suggestions, deadlines, tasks, descriptions, or other content.
AI-generated information can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate. Recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated information before relying on it or taking action based on it.
Wingman does not guarantee that any recommendation is suitable for you or that following a recommendation will improve your academic, extracurricular, educational, or college-admissions outcomes.
Conversational AI features may be introduced in the future and may be subject to additional terms or limitations.
5. Opportunity Information
Wingman may obtain information about opportunities from a combination of sources, including publicly available information, third-party sources, organizations, databases, and other sources.
We may attempt to review or verify opportunity information, but we do not guarantee that opportunity information is accurate, complete, current, legitimate, available, or appropriate for a particular user.
In particular, Wingman does not guarantee:
- that an opportunity is still accepting applications;
- that a deadline is accurate;
- that eligibility requirements are accurate or complete;
- that an opportunity is legitimate;
- that an opportunity is free;
- that an opportunity will remain available;
- that you will be accepted into an opportunity; or
- that an opportunity is appropriate for your particular circumstances.
You should independently verify important information directly with the organization offering an opportunity before applying, paying money, submitting personal information, or otherwise participating.
6. No Admissions Guarantee
Wingman does not provide admissions advice or guarantee admission to any college, university, program, competition, internship, or other organization.
Wingman's recommendations are based on information available to the Service and information you provide. They are not predictions of how an admissions officer or other decision-maker will evaluate you.
No statement made by Wingman should be interpreted as a representation that a particular activity, opportunity, profile, task, or recommendation will increase your likelihood of admission.
7. Accounts
You may need an account to use certain features of Wingman.
You agree to:
- provide accurate information;
- keep your account information reasonably current;
- maintain the security of your account credentials;
- not share your account with another person; and
- notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account, except to the extent that applicable law provides otherwise.
8. Information You Provide
Wingman allows users to provide information about themselves, including information relating to their interests, activities, goals, education, location, and other aspects of their student profile.
You may also provide resume or profile information by uploading a PDF or text file or by pasting profile information into Wingman.
You represent that you have the right to provide the information you submit to Wingman and that doing so does not violate another person's rights.
Wingman does not retain uploaded resume or profile files after processing them for the relevant feature. The underlying information extracted or provided through the Service may nevertheless be retained as part of your Wingman profile, subject to our Privacy Policy.
9. Privacy
Your use of Wingman is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it, how information may be processed by third-party service providers, and how we protect and retain information.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Third-Party AI and Other Services
Wingman may use third-party service providers, including artificial-intelligence providers such as Anthropic and Google, to operate certain features.
Information you provide may be processed by these providers as necessary to provide Wingman features.
We do not represent or guarantee that third-party providers will handle information in exactly the same manner as Wingman. Their processing may also be governed by their own terms and policies.
We will take reasonable steps to configure and use third-party services consistently with our stated privacy practices, but third-party services are outside our direct control.
11. Acceptable Use
You may use Wingman only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
- use Wingman to violate any law or regulation;
- attempt to access another user's account or information;
- interfere with the operation or security of Wingman;
- attempt to circumvent access controls or other security measures;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from Wingman except where permitted by law;
- use automated systems to access Wingman in a manner that places unreasonable load on the Service;
- impersonate another person;
- provide knowingly false information for the purpose of misleading Wingman or another person; or
- use Wingman in a way that could harm the Service or other users.
Because Wingman is designed for students, users should not use it to share sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the Service.
12. User Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content that you provide to Wingman, subject to the rights necessary for us to operate the Service.
By submitting information or content to Wingman, you grant the Operator a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce, modify, and use that content solely as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve Wingman.
You do not transfer ownership of your resume, profile information, or other original content to the Operator.
Wingman, including its software, interface, branding, design, functionality, and original content, is owned by or licensed to the Operator and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or commercially exploit Wingman or its proprietary components without permission.
13. Feedback
We may invite beta users to provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, bug reports, or other comments about Wingman.
You agree that we may use and incorporate feedback you provide to improve or develop Wingman without owing you compensation or an obligation to implement the suggestion.
This does not give us ownership of your underlying personal profile or other user content.
14. Third-Party Websites and Organizations
Wingman may contain information about or links to third-party organizations, websites, programs, internships, competitions, or other services.
We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their:
- content;
- privacy practices;
- security;
- eligibility requirements;
- deadlines;
- application processes;
- decisions; or
- products or services.
Your interactions with third parties are between you and those third parties.
14A. Mailing-List Signup
Wingman offers an optional feature that submits a mailing-list signup to a third-party organization on your behalf.
This feature only ever runs when you ask for it:
- you choose a single opportunity and tap the signup button;
- you confirm the email address to be used, which you may change from the one on your account; and
- you tick a box confirming it is okay to send your details to that organization.
There is no bulk or automatic signup. Wingman will never subscribe you to a mailing list you did not individually select.
When you use this feature, Wingman sends your first and last name and the email address you confirmed to the organization's mailing-list provider. That is the same information you would type into the organization's own signup form.
Two limits are worth understanding:
- Submitting a signup is not the same as being subscribed. Most organizations send a confirmation email and only add you to their list once you click the link in it. Wingman cannot see that email or click that link for you.
- Once your details reach the organization, they are the organization's to handle. Their emails, their privacy practices, and their unsubscribe process are theirs, not ours. Section 14 above applies. To stop receiving their mail, use the unsubscribe link in their email or contact them directly — removing the opportunity from Wingman does not unsubscribe you.
15. No Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wingman is provided "as is" and "as available."
We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding Wingman, including warranties of:
- accuracy;
- reliability;
- availability;
- fitness for a particular purpose;
- merchantability;
- non-infringement; or
- suitability for a particular user.
We do not warrant that Wingman will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use Wingman.
This includes, without limitation, losses relating to:
- missed deadlines;
- unsuccessful applications;
- college admissions decisions;
- inaccurate recommendations;
- third-party opportunities;
- inaccurate or incomplete information;
- loss of data; or
- actions taken based on information generated or displayed by Wingman.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of the Operator for claims arising out of or relating to Wingman will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid to use Wingman during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
17. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Operator from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your:
- violation of these Terms;
- misuse of Wingman;
- violation of another person's rights; or
- violation of applicable law.
This section does not require you to indemnify the Operator to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
18. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Wingman at any time, including if we reasonably believe that you have:
- violated these Terms;
- misused the Service;
- attempted to compromise the security of the Service;
- provided false information;
- used another person's account; or
- engaged in conduct that could harm Wingman, its users, or the Operator.
Because Wingman is a beta product, we may also discontinue individual features or the beta program itself at any time.
You may stop using Wingman at any time.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution, will survive termination.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms as Wingman develops.
If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as by displaying a notice within Wingman or sending an email.
Your continued use of Wingman after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
20. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
To the extent a dispute is permitted to proceed in court, the parties agree that courts located in Washington will have jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a user from exercising rights that cannot legally be waived.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and the Operator regarding your use of Wingman.
If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
