AI does the searching so you don't have to. It turns what you tell us into a written profile, ranks opportunities against it and explains why each one fits, and — when you track something — checks the program's own page for its deadline and next steps.
The rest of the app, like browsing your catalog, your Quest Log and your calendar, works without any AI at all. For the full breakdown, see How we use AI.
No. We do not intentionally use your information to train our own AI models. Your profile and activity are used to run Wingman's features for you, not to build a model.
Wingman uses third-party AI providers, Anthropic and Google, to process information. Their own policies may apply, and we aim to use provider configurations consistent with the practices we describe.
It can be, so Wingman is built to be honest about how sure it is. A checklist step tells you plainly whether it came from the program's own page, a trusted guide, or a typical-steps guess — never dressed up as more certain than it is. Estimated dates are labeled as estimates.
Always confirm deadlines and requirements on the program's official page before you apply.
Yes, anytime. Open Manage Plan in the app and choose Export my data. You'll get a file with your profile, tracked opportunities and account details.
Yes, anytime, and it's yours to do. In Manage Plan, choose Delete my account. We ask you to confirm it's really you, then remove your account and the data tied to it. This can't be undone.
As little as possible — only what's needed to find and track opportunities. Your profile is built from your interests, projects and goals, not a demographic form. Wingman doesn't ask for your gender or other personal details it doesn't need.
The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Only you. Wingman has no public profiles, no social feed and no user-to-user messaging, so there's nothing for other students to browse or find. Your profile and activity stay private to your account.
No. Your conversations with the profile chatbot aren't kept as a transcript. What Wingman keeps is the profile they produce — a summary of your interests and goals — not everything you typed to get there.
The chatbot has one job: helping you build your profile. If a conversation drifts off topic, it steers back to that or stops, rather than following the conversation wherever it goes. It isn't a general-purpose chatbot or a homework helper.
It's built for the student. A parent can absolutely help set things up and pay, but Wingman is the student's own space — not a dashboard for parents to check up on them.
Yes, with a parent or guardian's permission, as described in our Terms. When you sign up, we ask you to confirm this.
You can start free, no card required. The Free plan gives you a daily allowance of AI actions — profile chats, match-finding, deadline checks and resume imports — that resets each day. The rest of the app keeps working either way.
Wingman Unlimited removes that daily cap for $4.99/month. See Pricing for the details.
