The NIH Short-Term Research Experience Program to Unlock Potential (STEP-UP) provides high school juniors and seniors with hands-on biomedical research opportunities. Coordinated by the University of Utah’s College of Health and funded by an NIH R25 grant, the program includes an eight-week summer research experience followed by a nine-month mentorship, and participants receive stipends.
