The Illinois 4-H Dish Dash (formerly the State Food Challenge) is a timed, judged cooking competition where teams of middle and high school youth prepare a nutritious and visually appealing culinary creation incorporating mystery ingredients. Participants showcase their dishes with a presentation covering cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and nutrition, while gaining life skills in teamwork, planning, problem-solving, and public speaking.
