Course-based Research Experiences (CRE) provide students with the opportunity to propose, design, and conduct their own independent research project working on topics currently unknown to the specific discipline. Students participate in a five-week hybrid course, spending the first two weeks online learning content, conducting literature reviews, and learning research methodologies, followed by three weeks on the Brown University campus completing their research project and presenting at a CRE Symposium.
