This summer program introduces motivated high school students to the techniques and equipment used in modern biotechnology research, building a strong foundation through hands-on work with model systems such as E. coli, C. elegans, and D. melanogaster. Students learn methods including bacterial transformations, gel electrophoresis, plasmid engineering, PCR analysis, and DNA/RNA extraction.
